The picture is a ring bill seagull taken in Barnegat, NJ. The embroidery is based on a California seagull. I made some small adjustments to the colors to make it look more like the picture of the ring bill seagull.
Birding is a hobby of ours, and we have a lot of different bird designs.

We have moose here, but they are more common north of us. This photo was taken in the spring, after he shed his rack and before he started growing a new one. I've seen a few moose with the full racks, but not close enough to get a good photo. . . yet. This was taken near Lake Umbagog in New Hampshire. It is nice to be able to embroider scenes of nature. The embroidery design is large, and makes a good jacketback or messenger bag for a hunter or outdoorsman (or woman); we also have smaller designs suitable for the front of a jacket or shirt.

We have an abundance of white tail deer around here. However, it can be difficult to get close to them (unless you feed them). We don't feed them, so these two were cropped out of a larger photo. They are wearing their winter coats, which are much darker than their summer coats, and like moose they drop their racks and regrow them every year. This design also makes a good jacketback or messenger bag, and we have lots of smaller ones.
It is easy to be inspired by natue in our custom embroidery work around here.

Ice fishing is a big winter pastime here. People drive their cars and trucks onto the frozen lakes, set up small houses, drill holes in the ice, and spend the day fishing. The picture was taken at the Pontook Reservoir in New Hampshire, but Lake Fairlee a few minutes away from us looks just the same.
It's very important that people get their fishing in BEFORE the ice gets too thin. It would be tough to call your Florida-based insurance company to explain that you need to have them pay to remove your truck or car from the lake.
I did not embroider the entire scene. Here is the basic equipment (minus the house). |

We visited the Barnegat Lighthouse on Long Beach Island, New Jersey. It was originally built in 1835, and a new one (this one) was started in 1857 and lit in 1859.
The photo is mine, and the embroidery we did after we came back. We couldn't match the color exactly but came close. Note that the embroidery is from the opposite side of the lighthouse. We have a wide variety of different lighthouses.
